Prague splendor
Friday, March 19th, 2010In January of this year we were in Prague. And, especially with the snow falling thick layers covered the streets and rooftops, Prague is beautiful and the people friendly. The city is far from polished, they leave many faces. Struggle. Communism. Couples. Light. Music. Literature. Unexpected encounters. Stars. And views.
A few tips (except for going out, we were both awfully sick):
- Transport: take only the yellow taxis, whether they start the meter (check that!), and ask for a receipt. As an indication ride from the airport to the center costs about 25 euros. trams and underground work fine and cost about 1 euro per trip.
- Museums: Mucha Museum ** (Panská 7, Mustek metro) , Communism Museum *** (Na Prikope 10, Mustek metro) ,
- Eating: Zahrada v Opere * (Legerova 75, near the Opera) , Luka Lu *** (Ujezd 33, Mala Strana) , Cafe Savoy *** (Vitezna 5, Mala Strana) , Kavarna Pavilon ** (Vinhradska 50, Vinohrady ) , Sherwood Restaurant *** (at the opera in the neighborhood) .
- do: bring comfortable shoes, Prague Castle (Hradcany) , shopping in the numerous American malls, drink at the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa (Mala Strana) , Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, Petrin Tower, Mirror Maze, Petrin Observatory, Státní Opera (every night topvoorstelling for a few bucks ).
