On Sunday, October 12, 2008, at about 10:00 the cultural program "Repatriation from the Dutch East Indies" place on the Arnhem Bronbeek estate. From today until October 4 as it is possible to reserve places for this lecture.

The program is similar to what was offered on March 16, 2008 at the sold out Kumpulan. The day is aimed at people interested in the history and culture of the former Dutch East Indies and modern Indonesia. Indian buffet and a visit to the museum Bronbeek included.

The meeting on October 12 is the first in a series of new cultural Bronbeek on Sundays. The following are November 16, 2008, and January 25, February 22 and March 22, 2009.

Repatriation
From 1945, many Eurasian, Indo-Dutch and Dutch from the former Dutch East Indies to the mainland for many of them unknown. The Dutch government did not immediately consulted with the refugees and offered them shelter in contract or in private houses.
Indian and Dutch-Indian families often felt misunderstood by the authorities, but assimilated silently. Despite or because of the opposition they encountered, the returnees are the best integrated minority in the Netherlands.

Program
Wim Willems and Kirsten Fox will aspects of the repatriation from the Dutch Indies to raise. Hetty-Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich shows her documentary film "Contract Pensions' Scarabee Movies and interviewed before.

Wim Willems (1951) is Professor of Social History. He has a series of studies on the Indian post-war history to his name. Are standard in this area is "The exodus from India 1945-1995 '(2001).
